Hospital and medical facilities contract with Positive Impact Waste Solutions' services for medical waste treatment on a daily, weekly or 'as needed' basis. PIWS' MMT 3000 visits the facility as scheduled and processes all RMW on location in a time efficient manner.

Utilizing the computer interface, the MMT 3000 operator stages the medical waste and loads vital information, such as the net weight of the waste and processing date and time. The proper amount of Cold-Sterand water mist required to treat the volume of waste to be processed is then added.

The Automated Cart Lift Mechanism transfers the waste into the twin treatment chambers, where the Cold-Ster is chemically bound to the waste material, balancing the pH level and rendering the organic material and microbiological organisms non-infectious. In addition, the processing blades of the MMT 3000 cut the waste enough times to reduce the original volume by more than 70%. The treated material is then emptied into the medical facility's general waste stream, which can be emptied into any public waste landfill. All aspects of the process are documented by the MMT 3000's on-board computer for permanent and regulatory records.
